This PR prepares the 0.5 release branch for the next patch release. It includes the following changes:

  • manual backport of e2e: add emojivoto to release #358 due to merge conflicts
  • cherry-pick of unmerged e2e: add test for release candidates #355, which introduces an e2e test for release candidates
    • this should still be forward-ported to main, but needs manual conflict resolution with the runtime addition.
  • removal of port-forwarders for generated emojivoto
    • This is only valid on release/v0.5, because on main we depend on these via the service mesh test.
    • Eventually, port-forwarders should be optional for all resourcegen sets - tracked in AB#4091.
